As part of the European leg of their latest world tour, which opened last week in Russia, Pet Shop Boys play the 02 this Friday, June 19. Pandemonium, which follows the release of their latest album, Yes, is one of their most spectacular shows ever, and includes material rarely or never performed live before, as well as the expected PSB classics and songs from the new album, which was a top 5 hit across Europe.
 
Yes and Pandemonium mark 25 years since the release of PSB’s first record, West End Girls, in the summer of 1984, and follows the ‘official’ recognition of their greatness that came with 2009′s Brit award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. Despite having achieved Living National Treasure status, their workload would seem to suggest that they’re far from retirement, and their choice of Britain’s edgiest producers, Xenomania (for whom they wrote a Girls Aloud hit), is proof of a refusal to take things easy. Yes has been acclaimed as a startling and thrillingly modern return to form, and in combination with their uniquely avant-garde approach to the pop concert format should make for quite a show at the O2.
