A new festival for Vauxhall with some top names on the bill, brought to you by the force behind the Eagle. Amid month August blow out by the looks of things – has the bank holiday come early??

Milk in the Park 2009 will be a celebration and party to mark a host of significant events which have given us the opportunity to live and work in equality and freedom without prejudice and hate.

40 Years since the Stonewall Riots – 30 Years to commemorate our pioneer of Gay civil rights Harvey Milk and 5 Years of London’s favourite bar and venue Eagle London! Milk in the Park will be great big musical disco party in the heart of The Vauxhall Gay Village in Lambeth, London on Saturday August 15th.

Eagle London has been at the centre of an ongoing campaign with The Metropolitan Police LGBT Hate Crime Forum to make our area safer and stamp out the ongoing menace of Hate Crimes which affect so many of our community. With positive actions and targeted campaigns we have managed to dramatically reduce these incidents and create a safe environment for us to live and work.

Earlier this year as part of our Hate Crime Initiatives for 2009 and in association with the legendary Horse Meat Disco we screened the Life & times of Harvey Milk (the award winning documentary). After the screening we then celebrated with a special Horse Meat party which gave us the inspiration to offer an even bigger celebration for many more to enjoy, this led to the creation of Milk in the Park 2009!

Horse Meat Disco will be hosting the main arena with a fantastic line up of PA’s and DJ’s. Horse Meat Disco is a flagship night at Eagle London and has built up a large and diverse crowd of fashion freaks, bears, trannies, club kids, gay and the straight who pack the club week after week. HMD has a huge following and as a result has taken on residencies in Paris, Berlin, Istanbul as well as UK super-clubs such as Fabric. The HMD boys embark on a world tour this summer and will be launching their highly anticipated new album!

Milk in the Park will be their first return UK gig. With HMD on board and programming the main tent we are sure to have a spectacular party for all to enjoy, COME AND KIKI!

Joining the Horse Meat crew will be cabaret superstar Jonny Woo fresh from hosting Selfridges Gay Bingo and Vogue classes he will be delivering his inimitable style of hardcore tranny madness and performance art. WORK!

Something for the boys will be TONKER the UK’s favourite muscle bear gathering who will be hosting the Bears in the Wood bar area with hot muscle daddies delivering the eye candy, The Tonker all star DJ line up will be joined by some special guests determined to spin you into a furry frenzy!

Carpet Burn will be having a blinding knees up of 80 & 90’s pop classics…celebrating the era fashion forgot. Expect a lot of hands in the air moments as your fave pop anthem gets rinsed by Carpet Burn resident C*nt Mix Wont Mix. Where else can you rock out to Guns and Roses and style it out to Hall and Oates. Work a look and take to the floor, this party aint for the faint hearted.

The second bar tent will be hosted by the super cool Deep Inside, Eagle London’s homage to New York gay bars of the early 90s playing pure NYC house with a sexy, fun ambience for this mixed, up for it party crowd who come together for the old school flavour…..tribal, acid, deep, Chicago, NYC….house

Getting in the 2012 mood Milk in the Park will be playing host to the worlds first Tranny Net Ball Tournament. Played on the Spring Gardens Net Ball court….

There will also be a giant cinema screen showing The Life and Times of Harvey Milk, the award winning documentary of the man who has inspired this event. Following this screening Paris is Burning and Celluloid Closet. A relaxing chill out with some top class entertainment
