This year’s Pride London Festival Fortnight runs from June 20th - July 5th, with a host of LGBT performances, art exhibitions, comedy, theatre and cabaret events across the city. The centrepiece is Parade Day on Saturday July 4th which is expected to draw an audience of over 500,000 for its celebration of diversity, promotion of equality and the fight against discrimination as its cavalcade of celebrities, floats and performers wends its way through central London.
This year’s Parade Day theme is ‘Come Out and Play’, and is predicted to be one of the most spectacular Prides ever. The procession of colourful fun will set off from Baker Street at 1pm and advance along Oxford Street and Regent Street, passing some of London’s most famous landmarks as it swings round through Piccadilly to Trafalgar Square, where there’ll be a multifarious combination of speakers, stalls and a terrific line up of main stage performers. Meanwhile, gayest Soho will be closed to traffic and the street party will be in full swing.
