Every first and third Friday of the month, Club Kali, the world’s biggest LGBT asian music club (and probably the longest established) plays Bollywood, Bhangra, Arabic, RnB and Dance hits at The Dome, on the first floor of The Boston Arms in north London, and this year celebrates its fourteenth anniversary. DJs Ritu, Riz and Qurra play for a very mixed crowd drawn to the friendly and attitude-free atmosphere and the club’s policy of providing a safe space for people of all sexual orientations.

Club Kali’s manager DJ Ritu is probably best known for her Saturday night BBC London radio show A World In London and her Asian specialist show on BBC Radio 3, which has been running for fifteen years and is re-broadcast in Germany and Turkey, but she also manages two other London club nights: Hoppa, an LGBT night dedicated to Arabic, Turkish Pop, Greek, Bhangra, Tabla (Darbuka) Rhythms, Rai and Belly Dance; and the Bollywood institution, Kuch Kuch.
