Days before London fashion week is due to commence and the fashion industry has been dealt a huge loss. Today’s news of the untimely death of the British fashion legend Alexander McQueen is tragic on so many levels. McQueen was an asset to the world of fashion, described as a ‘genius’ and ‘totally inspiring’ it is fair to say he was hugely admired by his peers. McQueens McQ line was due to be shown at New York fashion week this afternoon.

The British icon’s death will be sure to have an effect on the fashion industry. Tributes to the designer who received a CBE and was named International Designer of the Year, are already coming in fast, highlighting how well respected McQueen is to the industry.

Doubtless this will effect London fashion week in some way, as McQueen’s presence will be greatly missed.

Who knows how many ways this will effect the British fashion industry. For now let us just say how deeply sorry we are at this truly tragic loss.
